The Healthy Weight team works to improve the health of all the residents of Brighton & Hove.For people who are concerned about their weight, the team offers healthy lifestyle programmes which can help adults, children and families to establish a healthier weight. Many of our programmes are offered FREE to residents of Brighton & Hove (funded by NHS Brighton & Hove), so please see either the adult or children's programme details for more information. The team also offers training courses to organisations which are concerned about the health and wellbeing of their staff or service users. The Dietitians and Nutritionists of the Healthy Weight team believe that eating a variety of foods, considering portion sizes, understanding food labels, eating regularly and being more active helps people to lose weight slowly and safely. Our advice follows government recommendations for establishing a healthy lifestyle for now and for the future. There are no tricks or gimmicks, just evidence-based advice that has been proven to help with weight loss and improve long-term health, including the reduced risk of future ill health. |
