Our Community Cookery training course.

We deliver a ten week cookery leaders training course in East and West Brighton. Well over 150 people have completed the course since we first introduced it in 2004, and have taken their new-found skills and confidence back into their communities.

The aims of Cookability training are to

  • Develop cookery skills and increase confidence in the kitchen

  • Build up knowledge about nutrition and how to achieve a healthy diet

  • Enable participants to run successful cookery sessions with both children and adults

  • Ensure participants are trained in Basic Food Safety

  • Bring together a network of people working on food-related projects.

The courses take place termly over ten mornings from 9:30am to 2:00pm, with no session at half term.

A group lunch is included.

Help with transport costs available on request.

The value of this course is £375.00 per person. Thanks to funding from NHS Brighton & Hove, we are able to offer places for free. If your organisation is able to make a contribution, this will allow us to train more people.
