Background Information on the Food Partnership's work in schools...

School Food Policy Manager Paul Streetly supports & helps develop whole school food work across Brighton & Hove, identifying where schools may benefit from extra support and training around growing, cooking, healthy choice work, school food policy & the curriculum, school lunches and food-related extended services like breakfast clubs.

The Food Partnership's Community Cookery team works in schools teaching children  and training teachers and staff to pass on cooking and healthy lunchbox/healthy choice skills. They can also start up and run healthy breakfast and after school clubs, and deliver school holiday cooking workshops.

Results from the 2009 School Food Survey coordinated by the Food Partnership are informing the development of a range of measures being offered to schools during the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms, with the help of the Council's Healthy Schools team.

The range of training and services offered to schools can be seen in the Autumn and Spring offer leaflets - to see past offers click here on Autumn 2009 , Spring 2010 (1) and Spring 2010 (2)
