Shape Up After Baby
A tailored Shape Up programme to shift those post-baby pounds and develop healthy lifelong changes. If you are above a healthy weight and from six weeks to two years post pregnancy this free programme is especially for you.
What to expect
Just like Shape Up with the added benefit of being able to bring your baby with you.
Shape Up After Baby consists of 10 weekly sessions, each lasting 1½ hours. The sessions include 45 minutes of healthy eating advice and 45 minutes of exercise for mums of all fitness levels.
Expect a relaxed and supportive group environment where you can share ideas and practical tips and join in with exercise sessions run by activity leaders catering for mums with babies.
We will provide you with up-to-date, evidence-based information on healthy eating and help you identify the changes you need to make to achieve your weight loss and physical activity goals.
Babies and toddlers are welcome too and our friendly staff will be on hand to help, particularly during the activity sessions.
Our help and support doesn't end when you have finished your Shape Up After Baby programme. We have a number of options to suit, ranging from our online ask a nutrition advisor service to monthly drop-in groups.
Shape Up After Baby programmes take place regularly at the Brighthelm Community Centre on North Road near Brighton Station (see map). Weight control after pregnancy may reduce a woman's long-term risk of heart disease, some cancers and type 2 diabetes.
