Training & workshops

The Food Partnership provides a range of training and workshops for members of the public and professionals.

Food growing

Our Harvest project offers training courses on growing food, composting and preserving seasonal produce. The full list of courses and online booking is available on the Harvest website. The team also sometimes provides speakers for events and bespoke training when requested.

Cookery

Our community cookery project works with individuals and groups to give people the skills to create healthy, affordable meals. The team works with children and adults to encourage and inspire people to try cooking. We deliver a cookery training course, Cookability, to give people the skills to lead cookery groups themselves.

From Baby Buffet - teaching how to prepare foods suitable for weaning - to the Old Spice cookery course for older men, there are lots of opportunities to learn.

For a small charge, our team of trained cookery workers can deliver cookery workshops and demos at community or school events.

Nutrition

Our Dietitians and Nutritionists can provide healthy eating workshops and training sessions. For example, Eatwell workshops are practical training sessions that help participants to understand various aspects of healthy eating and how to apply their knowledge in a practical way. Workshops can be adapted to suit the nutritional needs of a particular group (eg: parents with toddlers) and can be arranged at a time to suit your group or organisation.

Training courses are available for professionals who are interested in learning about healthy, balanced eating for use in their own setting. Training can be adapted to suit the nutritional needs of a particular group (eg: Early Years practitioners, nursing homes) and can be arranged at a time to suit your organisation.
