What to expect at Shape Up

shape-up mlEach programme consists of 9 sessions, each lasting 1½ hours. The sessions include 45 minutes discussing healthy eating topics followed by 45 minutes of light activity suitable for all ages and levels of mobility.

 

The Shape Up programme will:

  • Give you up-to-date, evidence-based information on healthy eating and activity
  • Help you to identify what will motivate you to change your lifestyle
  • Support you to achieve weight loss goals
  • Encourage and support you to make achievable lifestyle changes
  • Help you to become aware of your personal relationship with food


What not to expect

This programme is not about...

  • Strict diets
  • Weighing you in public (all measures are kept confidential)
  • Criticising or judging you

 

What we expect from you

To get the most from this programme we hope you will be able to:

  • Attend each session
  • Arrive on time (we will make sure we finish on time)
  • Participate if you feel comfortable doing so and at your own pace
  • Complete the tasks that are set to help you
